Share Our Reporting: NOTUS Syndication Guidelines

The AJI-NOTUS Newsroom
Tracey Salazar

NOTUS is a nonprofit newsroom, and we want our stories about power and politics to find the audiences that will care about them most. If you’re a local or state-based nonprofit news organization that would like to republish a NOTUS article, here’s the process:

  • You must first reach out to our director of outreach at justinpeligri@aji.org. Our stories cannot be republished without our express permission.
  • Republished stories should be appropriately credited to the original reporters and outlet. We require the byline to read, “Reporter Name(s), NOTUS,” and then a line at the top of the story that reads, “This story originally appeared in NOTUS, a nonpartisan, nonprofit newsroom” with a link to the original.
  • Our stories should be republished exactly as they appear on NOTUS. If you need to cut a story for space, those edits need to be approved by editors at NOTUS.
  • Please use our published headlines for our work. If you’re interested in changing the headline, you must consult us before doing so.
  • Our work is available for republishing on a story-by-story basis: You cannot automatically pull a mass of our stories for republication.

There’s no cost for republishing our work. We don’t assume any legal liability for a republished story.
